In all sensibility I have no reason or knowledge of why I'm doing this. Probally because

kaitlinbell spawned it on to my brain while we were talking on the phone. We have all these lovely phone degrassi chats. I really wish i could figure out how to record them on my phone because we really work some stuff out. It's quite fun. Which is why now i am going to try and do a version of what Kate and I do on the phone, but by myself. So *deep breath* here i go.
Paige Michalchuk. Not your average Valley Girl knock off as said in Lauren's unscripted. Personally, she is my favorite character out of the Degrassi kids. Why? Because she one has a personality much like mine, and two. she's the one that is the most dynamic(AN-using my english vocabulary it means character that changes)character's there are in Degrassi that change for the best(i.e. worst dynamic would have to be manny). She is sarcastic, wise in her own right, smart, caring(when she likes you) and can be bitchy, horrible, catty, and so on and so forth. But one of her best features is her ability to draw you in. Now it might not just be Paige, but Lauren's ability to
play Paige. When Paige wants you as a friend or partner in crime, she knows how to act and say to draw you in. (i.e. Manny for the S.S.) She want's the best of the best in her group and some lackeys too.
Today Kate and I were talking about Paige's relationship to Hazel and how Kate was surprised it lasted long, because in the way Degrassi brings her up she is a total lackey. She is there for adoration paige not to help accomplish somthing. Though in her own rights she does have a personality, but its mostly one that is laid back and likes other's to take charge. She does not like change. As is evident in RS and LoL, when she first breaks up with Jimmy because he changed so much that she cannot understand him and then snaps about Paige's friendship with Alex because that's a part of Paige that she cannot understand. She fears being replaced by other people. She also has walls that stop relationships. She mostly molds herself to be the perfect lackey for one type of person and when that person changes she doesn't so she is left behind.
When we talked about that my mind went to Marco. Not because I dont like him, because I do I really do, but because he is the other character who is one of Paige's best friends and also has a slight tendencty to mold himself to a character. He unlike Hazel does have is own personality that does not have to be searched for. He is just nice and overly at the least. Which as Kate pointed out can be one of his faults, because when people do get mad at him he is left bewildered because he doesn't get
why they are mad at him because he was being nice. But this personality also helps with his and Paige's relationship. It allows them both to open up to each other in a diffrent deminsion that he and Ellie did, or Paige and Hazel. They have a give and take relationship. They sometimes have to work things out of each other, but in they in they do and all almost works out. Also with Season 5, Marco is a little more selfish than he was in Season 4, letting Paige give some real advice.
Another thing that tickles me is that Paige is almost utterly predictable. If you think about it you could see her fight with Manny coming. First off, missed by most people, Manny stole JT. Who was a lackey sorta. I mean he was the joker of the court. He made her laugh and was the mascot. She always thought he'd be there to admire her, but in RM that wasnt happening. Which we never she her have a problem with, but it's just a point that if you really think about how Paige would act, she would get mad. She doesnt like to share the spotlight and Manny taking one her admirers? Thats taking some of her light or thunder away. Then the whole thing with Spinner, Paige is pissed though she never did say anything to Manny about it. Sometimes you really have to hate the degrassi writers for choosing not to show some of these things. But then again I dont think they thought that they would have loony fans that would sit around and analyze things. But you can see where the Manny fight was coming from.
Spinner fight was evident that would happen. Spinner was her prime joker and her main comfort. He introduced her to alot of the people she hangs with now. For example, Marco and Craig probally wouldnt be her friends if it wasnt for him introducing them to the clique. The other thing is that other than Jimmy he was her friend longer than everyone else. Jimmy is the longest standing. Jimmy, Spinner, Terri, Ashley, and Paige where the older grade or grade 8 at the start of season 1. Jimmy was friend's with Paige through Ashley who was friends with Terri and Paige but more so with Terri who liked hanging out with Paige. Paige as much as we can see had other friends and was very popular, because Terri, like hazel, was pretty much a lackey, but like Marco, had a personality of her own that would flare out at times. Ashley was popular in a diffrent way than Paige ever was. She was the sweet, nice, pretty, smart, organized person who was good at organization and working people together. She also had a small side of manipulation which you didnt see and surprised people. Where as Paige was always out right manipulating people. Which is probally why she stayed on top. She didnt try to manipulate people behind there back or infront of them and then get caught doing it and everything back slid. Jimmy was always the popular sensitive hottie Jock. In all reality you could see where if Paige hadnt been after Spin who was hot in his own right, she would go after Jimmy.
Then came our Second season where hazel, marco, and craig made their way into the group. Craig hung out with Sean who hung out with Jimmy and Spin at the time. And so on and so forth he was introduced more and more by Jimmy, Spin and then by ashley as they started dating. Marco was friends with Ellie, but Hazel who already had made her way as Paige's best friend had a crush on him so paige started to draw him in the clique. Kate said that he was more like another girl or somthing to that respect. Meh, early morning probally isnt the best time to be doing this but oh well. This is where i end this now. This is only part one of degrassi rant. Thank you for reading.
